Invisalign
Blue Bell, PA

Woman using clear aligner at Cramer Dental in Blue Bell, PATraditional braces and retainers have long been the standard for treating orthodontic concerns. They remain incredibly beneficial and efficient for patients with serious alignment issues. For those who have alignment concerns that are perhaps not as severe, the Invisalign system offers a number of benefits. At Cramer Dental we believe in pairing patients with the right treatment to address their specific needs. The Invisalign trays are practically invisible when worn, which is a benefit that patients of all ages can appreciate.

What Is the Invisalign System?

The Invisalign system makes use of a series of near-invisible aligner trays. Each of the trays is designed to be worn for a set period of time, before moving onto the next in the series. Steady but gentle pressure will be applied to the teeth, gradually moving them into their new positions. The aligner trays are comfortable, removable, and are often just as effective as traditional braces for some types of misalignments.

Benefits of Invisalign

Patients love the benefits that Invisalign can bring, including the fact that the aligner trays offer unmatched comfort when compared to traditional metal braces. There are also no food restrictions with Invisalign, whereas traditional braces often come with a list of food restrictions in order to protect the braces from damage. The Invisalign aligner trays are practically invisible when they are in place. This is a great benefit for teenagers and adults alike. Perhaps one of the best benefits is that straighter teeth are possible within less time than what is possible with traditional braces.

Process For Getting Invisalign

The process of getting Invisalign is fairly straightforward. Digital images and impressions will be taken of your teeth and submitted to the laboratory that will be responsible for making the series of aligner trays. Once the trays have been made, you will return to the office to pick them up and try the first tray in the series. You will need to return to the office periodically so that our dentist can check on your progress. You will have fewer office visits and checkups than what you'd otherwise experience with traditional metal braces.

Caring for Your Teeth with Invisalign

One of the key benefits of the Invisalign aligner tray system is that it is infinitely easier to care for your teeth than it is with traditional braces. Traditional braces can make it somewhat tricky to correctly brush each of your teeth, and it is near impossible to floss between your teeth. Orthodontic patients are at an increased risk for cavities and other minor concerns while their braces are straightening their teeth. Invisalign is much easier to maintain including allowing the tray to be removed while eating. They can also be removed when it is time to brush and floss your teeth. This will allow you to keep your teeth plaque-free, while still getting the benefits of straightening your smile. It is also important that you keep your Invisalign aligner trays clean, by rinsing them out at the end of each day after you've brushed your teeth.
