Dental Veneers and Dental Bonding
Rendering of jaw with porcelain veneer on tooth at Cramer Dental in Blue Bell, PADental veneers and dental bonding are the primary options for fixing dental flaws, such as broken, discolored, or cracked teeth. These dental procedures can also improve the general appearance of healthy teeth. Dental veneers and dental bonding are two options for fixing your smile. Dental veneers tend to focus on the entire surface of the tooth, while dental bonding focuses on smaller portions of the tooth. At Cramer Dental, we want to restore that long-lost smile using our unmatched cosmetic dentistry services.

What Are Dental Veneers?

Dental veneers are custom-made coverings designed to cover the front surfaces of your teeth. These thin shells help restore lost smiles by concealing stains, cracks, chips, and other dental imperfections. Dental veneers come in several options, with our dentists using high-quality dental materials, like porcelain, to create to your specifications.

What is Dental Bonding?

Dental bonding is similar to dental veneers, except that the two differ in the surface that gets covered after the dental procedure. Dental bonding focuses on smaller portions of the tooth instead of the entire surface. Still, they are similar because it is a cosmetic dentistry procedure that enhances your smile, with our dentists applying tooth-colored resin material to the affected tooth to change how it looks, its size, or its color.

Dental Bonding vs Veneers: What is the Difference?

Dental bonding follows a similar placement procedure. However, dental bonding does not involve removing a significant amount of enamel. Dental veneers are not reversible, while dental bonding is reversible.

What to Expect From Veneer Placement

At our practice, we conduct a comprehensive evaluation before any dental veneer placement procedure. The assessment establishes the need for dental veneers, and it entails our dentists examining your teeth and gums to ensure that you are eligible for veneers.

Our dentists will prepare your teeth for dental veneer placement if you are eligible. They will remove tiny amounts of enamel from your teeth and then proceed to get impressions of your teeth. We use X-rays, intraoral, and 3D facial scans to get these impressions. The images will help us assess the structure of the teeth, the condition of the enamel, and general oral health.

Our dentists will then send the information obtained during these preliminary evaluations to the dental lab to design your dental veneers. Often, the dental veneers can take a few days to a few weeks to be ready. However, our dentists will place temporary dental veneers as you await the customized dental veneers from the lab.

Once they are ready, you will make a second visit to our practice for dental veneer placement. Our dentists will check the shape and the color before fitting the dental veneers. Your dentist will permanently bond them into place using dental cement if they are in the correct shape and color.

How to Care for Dental Veneers

You will have a fantastic smile after the placement of a dental veneer, but you must try to maintain that smile. You must brush and floss daily, but do not pull the dental veneers up when flossing. You might want to avoid sticky foods like ice, hard candy, and nuts, until the dental veneers firmly adhere to the tooth surface.

If you need your smile brightened, even if you have perfectly healthy teeth, contact Cramer Dental at (484) 370-4010 to start your dental evaluation today and dental veneer placement at an affordable price.
